HISTORY OF THE KIRANDA PRIME
A continuation of the Primera Terminal Composite, the breed was created by Rissington Breedline in New Zealand, to complement the Highlander Maternal breed.
The breeding program was set up to represent the best terminal meat genetics available in Australia and New Zealand from all mainstream breeds. To maintain 100% hybrid vigour, no common breeds were used in the cross.
Since it’s conception in 2000, the Primera meat breed development has had more investment for eating quality than any other breed worldwide.
